Share ledger
Manage ownership changes, approvals, and historical versions securely in one place.

A digital share ledger is the company's statutory register of shares and shareholders, maintained in a digital system rather than in binders or separate spreadsheets.
All Swedish limited companies must maintain a share ledger. For companies whose shares are not registered with a central securities depository, the board is responsible for keeping and preserving the share ledger and making it available as required by the Swedish Companies Act. It must contain information about the company's shares, shareholders, and share classes.
A cap table or ownership list can provide a useful overview of ownership, but it does not necessarily contain all the information required in a share ledger.

When an ownership change is registered in Kvanta, it follows a clear workflow. The share ledger, ownership view, and history stay together, without requiring the same information to be updated across multiple files.

Document transfers, new share issues, and other events that change ownership.
Let authorized people review changes before a new version of the share ledger is published.
Produce an up-to-date share ledger for the board, auditors, or legal advisors.

Historical versions of the share ledger are saved automatically, allowing you to return to a specific point in time and see what ownership looked like. Ideal for due diligence or when auditors, investors, or the board need an earlier ownership view.
A share ledger can be maintained in a spreadsheet, provided that the legal requirements are met. The main difference lies in how changes, history, access, and control are handled in day-to-day work.
